Strange as it may sound to some of us, real life happens online for many college students. "Social Networking" commands the daily attention of over 90% of the students we meet.
Katie, a student at St. Charles Community College, filled out one of the CCC surveys in the fall semester. Stefan Helm, like others on the St. Louis CCC staff team, uses Facebook to follow up those surveys and apparently, Katie kept that message from the beginning of the year because a couple weeks ago she replied saying she wanted to get back in touch with God.
As Stefan began to talk with Katie through Facebook about CCC activities, he decided to ask some questions about Katie's ideas of faith and Christianity. These were the same kinds of questions that we might ask in person--they just happened online. He used a website with a gospel presentation to clearly explains what it means to have a relationship with God.
Nearly two hours later, Katie realized that she wasn’t sure if she had truly accepted Christ as her Savior. So, with her new understanding of what Christ had done for her, Katie indicated a decision to place her faith in Christ!
Katie has already gone through several follow-up lessons (in person!) and is growing in her relationship with Christ!
