Mother's Day at Yosemite was a big win. Normally, I don't do special occasions very well, but we did a special Mother's Day brunch at one of the tables with a view of Yosemite Falls right out our window!
On top of that special occasion...We enjoyed the strength of the sheer face of El Capitian. We played in the voluminous spray at the bottom of Bridal Falls. We viewed in awe at the expansive view of Yosemite Valley looking out from Glacier Point at waterfalls, Liberty Cap, the Half Dome, as well as the Upper and Lower Falls of Yosemite Falls.
That description doesn't do justice to our tour of the park. Reducing Holly's 450 pictures down to 14 was so sad, we wish that you could have seen it all with us!
Notables:
* The world truly has come to this park. It was so fun to see the diversity of people and hear the diversity of languages in the park!
* Sometimes it doesn't matter how badly the bathroom smells--when you have to go, you have to go!
* Family pictures become harder to take as it gets later in the day!
* I really enjoy the friendly culture of the people who are touring in the national parks.
* We had a very fun lunch in Mariposa, CA at the Happy Burger Diner. Apparently, they have the largest menu in the Sierras. Their "wallpaper" was composed of the album covers from a wide variety of artists.
* No one recognized Holly in the Yosemite Gift Shop. Last time, students from Yale who were there camping recognized her from being up in front doing evangelism training at our Big Break conference during spring break!
