We take a day to talk specifically about living as "World Christians." By this we mean that we live all for Christ where He places us but always with a mindset of the Great Commission's call to take the gospel to all the ends of the earth.
As a practical application, we asked students to conclude the night by putting a post-it on a map of the world to represent their commitment to become increasingly intentional about taking the gospel to these places. (We did, of course, remind them that each one of us already has a post-it on the United States since this is where we live!)
We were so encouraged to see people making commitments to take the gospel to countries that would be considered "closed" to the gospel. Students claimed countries throughout the 10/40 window. (The 10/40 Window is an area of the world that contains the larest populations of non-Christians in the world. The area extends from 10 degrees to 40 degrees north of the equator, and stretches from North Africa across the Middle East to China.)
The student commitments will involve praying, giving, going, cultivating relationships, and sending others in order to extend the kingdom of God.
